Odds and Ends
Hello dear reader!
I’ve complied a montage of somewhat random— but definitely noteworthy— design items that I have come across or that I am working on in a series I am calling Odds and Ends. Enjoy!
This house is EVERYTHING! I love a house that connects back to nature and this house in Chile designed by architects Gubbins-Polidura is an extraordinary piece of art with five huge concrete beams spanning across the structure. Not to mention it is an engineering masterpiece because the house sits on an average 20% slope. I couldn’t pick my favorite picture so head to the Source link for more inspirational images of this beautiful home.
I seriously can’t wait until we get a new fence for our backyard…(this is a good test to see if my husband is reading this)… thinking about going dark to help make the green plants pop, help with the excessive brightness in our backyard, and to set a moody tone. This has been my inspiration image!
Speaking of backyards: First, I am ready for Covid to leave already… but when it goes, I hope it doesn’t take back one of the few good things it brought to us… the revival of outdoor movies in the backyard! I am totally scheming right now how I can pull this off in our small back yard which is mostly concrete, and doesn’t have a lot of room. But this image is making me day dream and I can’t wait!
Isn’t this little girls’ room darling? The canopy bed fabric served as the inspiration for the room and took the whole room to the next level…not to mention the over the top cute doll’s bed! So cute!
It was 85 degrees over the weekend here (not normal for January) so we were loving our outdoor time. I felt like I was in the desert! And who doesn’t love a good mid-century modern home from Palm Springs. This is the Kaufmann Desert House, designed by Richard Neutra and completed in 1946. I love the floor to ceiling windows and the lush desert landscaping blooming in the spring! I need to take a trip back up there soon.
Last one… why NOT pink?
That’s it folks, have a great day!
